The Meseta de Pinares de Mayarí within the geographic group Sierra de Nipe, more than 700 m above sea level with its highest point in the Loma de la Mensura (995 m SNM), is located in the northeastern mountains of the eastern zone of Cuba, its total surface is 318.8 Km2. From the floristic point of view, it is one of the most interesting regions of the Cuban archipelago for its richness of endemic species, with more than 445 species, in a vegetation cover made up of original pine forests, charrascales, mesophilic evergreen forests, among others. The biodiversity of the fauna is represented by the report of more than 90 species of birds with 21 Cuban endemics as the most studied zoological group.

The naturalness of the park, marked by its mountainous relief in the form of a plateau, the pine forests and its cool tropical climate with micro-climatic conditions with average temperatures of 210 C, with several degrees below the national average, create landscapes of landscape uniqueness rarely repeated, presenting conditions for the development of recreational activities related to the interpretation of nature.
