This is a simple hotel 2 star, but very nice by his replica of the aborigines who lived in the life-size area. The rooms resembles a reproduction of houses built by Cuba’s indigenous people, in the middle of La Laguna del Tesoro in the precolomb century. Arriving at Villa Guamá is an adventure in itself, you have to take a motor boat, by 8km surrounded by mangroves, in a ten minute journey. The place enclose a mystical story about Laguna del Tesoro. It is said that indigenous people here threw away their worldly possessions into the lake as Spanish conquistadors readied to colonize the area in the 16th century. With a total area of 16km, this is the largest freshwater lake in Cuba. Boats leave every half hour for a sightseeing trip around the Laguna del Tesoro’s 10 islands.
