The Colony Hotel is located 42 km south-west of the capital of the Isle of Youth, Nueva Gerona, in Siguanea Bay. At a distance of only 1.5 km from the Hotel is the International Diving Center with the same name: Colony. A little further to the southwest is the Punta Francés National Marine Park.

One and a half kilometers from the Hotel is the Siguanea International Marina, which has boats for professional diving and fishing, equipped with first aid kit, oxygen supply, GPS satellite location system and echo sounder to measure depth.

For underwater activities there are 56 dive sites, several of them with important colonies of corals, gorgonians and sponges, in addition to the existence of caves, passages and tunnels. Experts emphasize in particular the spectacular beauty of immersion points with the names of Black Coral Wall, Tunnel of Love, Blue Cave, The Hidden Passage, Cave of the Shads, Coral Stone, El Salto, Pirate's Anchor, Levisas Paradise and Small Kingdom, making this hotel one of the main and most important diving destinations in Cuba and the region.
